Padfoot and his best friend Duffy. |
Adam recently cleaned out the garage and came across my favorite childhood bike along with Christine's, which dad and I had rebuilt (ourselves) from top to bottom a few years ago. Adam oiled the chains and adjusted the seats and presto, now the girls have bikes to ride at our house.
So Gabi and I spent the better part of 3 hours that morning learning the basics of bike riding. It was slow going at first but once she decided that she definitely wanted to learn she did really well, apart from forgetting to peddle and screaming at anyone who even dares think about crossing the road in front of her. She practiced off and on all weekend and now she is much more comfortable on a bike.
Friday night Adam and I took the the girls and both of the dogs to the dog park. We got lucky because we had the park all to ourselves which is the way I like it. There are usually a few shelter dogs out there for Padfoot to play with. I'm so much more comfortable when he plays with them because I don't have an angry owner to deal with should they not like the way Padfoot plays, he is big after all. There's the introvert in me, ha.
Any who, we played at the dog park for a good long time in the baking sun, there is a huge pond for the dogs to play in but no respite for the owners. Padfoot, of course, spent most of the time in the water, but por Duffy hated it. The girls got a nice surprise when they realized that they would be riding home with a huge wet dog on their laps.
Saturday morning we all woke to Adam making homemade doughnuts, so that was awesome.

Each night came to a close with a coke float and snuggling up to watch a good movie. I would say we had a pretty exciting and eventful weekend here.
